I'm a 59 year old white woman, raised in the south. My mother had me in a sleeping silk bonnet since i was 2 years old. This isnt black culture, this is women culture. Thank you for this video! Im going to buy some of your bonnets!!! There is only one race, and that is the human race. We all have different levels of melanocytes in our skin, but still all the same race. I know I'm poo-pooing on the divide and conquer agenda. Thank you again for this lovely video, and yes, I am a born again Christian. I have never braided my own hair because other people have been braiding my hair for me because my mother never taught me how to braid hair because I wanted to learn but she never had anytime to show me or teach me so I want to learn how to braid my own hair

i am not necessarily doing a challenge but i started doing this about two months ago. i really like it. it’s very freeing. it’s like you get the feel of locs but still have more options. i like your hair😊 i think i will keep doing this for a while as it is easy and it works. i love seeing my hair everyday. i do different styles with the twists and i never seem to get tired of it. i like how you put that pink satin scrunchy on top of bun. that is so cute

Im almost 3 months into my twist challenge 😊. Just like you! I am finding it slightly difficilt to stick to the twist hairstyle. I seem to want to change styles in-between. This is proven to be a difficult task to keep twist going. Watching your videos helps me to remain focus and continue on. Your hair has already grown. Keep going girl! We will eventually get there! 😊

You convinced me to give it a try. I have fine straight hair past my waist. Breakage , tangling, & frizzies are a real issue for me. I ordered one of your bonnets.

IN the 60s my mother went to the hair salon once a week to get her hair done.She wore a type of "Bee Hive" style that was popular for women back then. During the week she slept in a sort of bonnet/turban the hairdresser supplied at her business. It was very soft so it might have been silk or a rayon back then. It kept her hair together during the week and she never had to do much to touch up her hair between visits to the salon.

As a white woman with wavy hair that is turning grey, I am finding the bonnet to really help with my new hair texture! My gray hair is more textured and frizzy in addition to being more prone to breakage, so I find the bonnet really helps with that!

I went natural in 2022 and my hair is now almost lower back length! The best way to retain length is just to do a protective style and leave it alone for a few months. But when removing the protective style, I always blow dry and give myself a trim since I know those ends will be crying for help 😂 Unfortunately my mixed 4B/4C hair doesn’t like twists so I can only do braids 😢
